Seeing the world through the lens of her camera, Ms. Nezha Alaoui a photographer and humanitarian in the UN had the privilege to visit impoverished areas of the world lacking proper resources to live and survive in a volatile and uncertain environment.
By establishing an emotional bond with these people, Ms. Alaoui was able to understand their plight and provide adequate solutions in response to the crises plaguing those marginalized areas; one such solution was the creation of the Mayshad Foundation with the aim of improving the lives and conditions of people, their communities and unshackling women.
Ms. Alaoui's African and western backgrounds prompted her to start and develop grassroots movements in her foundation to heighten
awareness about initiatives to promote sustainable development and encourage social innovation.
While advocacy remains a key focus, Mayshad Foundation has evolved into a 501(c)(3) investing in programs around the world to ensure all women have access to education and proper resources to support their socio-economic freedom.
